No return for the effort in our one bet tonight as we nab $7.50 at the official SP and a whopping $8.92 at BSP on our pick #8 She’s On Time.

As mentioned in our preview, #1 Star Missile failed to perform, coming dead last at $3.80 and 2.70L , with the tight traffic across the 1600m causing relatively short margins as #7 Seberate and #5 Sunday Pray lead comfortably with 0.20L between them.

In terms of our own run, we managed to nab a 3rd at a margin of 1.20L as we sat comfortably near the barrier as #5 Sunday Pray shot out ahead of us early.

Coming into the 1200m mark we saw both #7 Sebarate and #5 Sunday Pray take the positions which would cause us havoc right the way to the end, with the 3 sets of runners already coming out as we still sit relatively well waiting for the stitch to come on the front runners.

Everything continued to look shiny through the 1000m mark as we pushed #6 Bag Raider up against the rail, with just #7 Sebarate taking the front of our lane with #5 Sunday Pray showing no signs of slowing down with a comfortable length and a half on us and three quarters on #7 Sebarate.

As we highlighted in the preview, #8 She’s On Time is best run with the mare sitting comfortable just behind the leaders with a late push the play that gets her the most conserved stamina, but things started to look dire at the 650m mark as #1 Star Missile finally made some moves pushing up the outside and blocking us in.

The 450m was a fantastic watch as we managed to battle our way to sit under a length away as we moved up to 3rd. Unfortunately it was this kick to the left from #1 Star Missile on the corner at the 300m which forced us up behind #7 Sebarate as the mare loses her comfortable rhythm and Brown is unable to get her back to the right bob and weave.

From there it was basically game over as without a strong diagonal jet we essentially lose the strong position we were in before we had another go at it at the 150m mark with #1 Star Missile turning off the boosters completely.

Unfortunately, the loss of stamina from the hit at the corner meant we had nothing left in the tank as we attempt another run up the middle to lock in 3rd.

Looking at the overall performance, we managed to hit our target price in-play and she certainly put in a massive effort showcasing that there was definitely a solid overlay.

#7 Sebarate put in a very great run although we would have been sitting pretty had #1 Star Missile kept to the back of the pack instead of pushing us up against the inside at our critical 400m “jump” mark.

Although we didn’t get it this time, we’re certainly not disappointed in the run with the same race being put through a couple of times over likely to see us continue to dance along the edge – and certainly a better value pick than the $3.00 favs.

The market managed to make the expected flip on #1 Star Missile and #5 Sunday Pray, and we did see a strong late go at it from #4 Quaffany that is likely to have gone significantly better had the 4 year old managed to secure a better position early.

With that being the only bet for Friday we think we still managed to secure one of the strongest bets of the night.
